Bernalillo - This community is the historical center of the State of New Mexico dating back to almost a thousand years ago. Bernalillo progressed from a string of haciendas along the river in the 1600's to a commercial and business center along the Interstate 25 corridor Bernalillo is known for being on the original historical Route 66 path and is at the center of the famed El Camino Real highway, which was the primary link that connected Santa Fe to Mexico City.
